FedEx uses all four of the main processes everyday in order to deal with its numerous amounts of shipments sent each day. Each day, millions of shipments are sent or received at a FedEx store, which are stored into a database. This system is also used to track shipments and packages around the world based on real time data that can be received from the drivers. The data can is stored until the product or a local FedEx truck picks up package. Once the product is picked up the driver is able to easily ship packages to the correct locations by using the information that was sent to him from the store. A driver drops off the package at its final sore location, an email is automatically sent out to the consumer as well as a phone call. This is done by the system informing the FedEx store that the package has reached its final destination. This system also allows drivers to notify a person approximately what time a package will show up its final location by real world tracking. If a product is to be shipped to a person’s house, the driver is notified of the location of the house as well as the approximate time the package will be delivered.

FedEx would be an example of an E-Commerce Information system due to that fact that all information is all stored online. The company also has a place where customers can leave feedback in order to inform what the company has done right or wrong. The managers and owners take this feedback and try to figure out new ways to work with customers in order to receive the best feedback possible. FedEx became one of the largest shipping companies in the world because of the satisfaction it gives to its customers. Being able to provide that fastest and safest shipping, it gives the people the trust in order to continue there service.
